The British Prison Authority has done a U-turn regarding the extortion money, asked for and paid for the release of Aidan Hulme, and now denies asking for or receiving any money, which was paid for Aidan’s rescue. In the same breath, they have returned the money to the family, in the amount of ₤4,000 Sterling equal to $6,200 American.
The Irish Freedom Committee® spearheaded this campaign and were the only American organization to do so, that we are aware of. Hopefully others did so also, but we are not aware of it. The response world-wide was electrifying, with many, many people supporting this effort. Letters came in from all over the world. Many of you on these Bulletin Boards sent in letters and donations for the effort.
Other pretend-republicans denounced and ridiculed the IFC for sending "foolish" letters on Aidan Hulme's behalf. The Wall Street RSF Support Group in NY, mis-using the IFC name, asked their radio listeners NOT to cooperate with the IFC on this matter. They publicly denounced the IFC for “…thinking they are doing something…”.
It seems some British politicians received the IFC PRESS RELEASE from one person who forwarded the Irish Freedom Committee® NewsList Press Release on Aidan Hulme’s deplorable condition and the British Prison Authority’s calloused response. The Courts ordered Aidan released to hospital, but the Prison Authority refused, demanding payment of first ₤9,000 and then they reduced it to ₤4,000, the exact amount the family was able to raise. Now this hard earned cash is back in the hands of the family. The reason?
One person in the IFC wrote a press release, which one person sent to a politician, and that one politician presented it in Parliament. Presto!!! Lightening-fast speed!!! Suddenly the head of the British Prison system quietly returned the money to the family of Aidan Hulme, and sent a cover-my-ass letter to the IFC National Headquarters claiming never to have asked for or received any money.
Who says one or two individuals do not make a difference.
Please write those letters; send those cards to the prisoners. They do make a difference. Every single person and every single letter makes a difference.
A Massachusetts individual wrote a letter to a couple of U.S. Senators, who knew nothing of the Aidan Hulme’s situation because it was not in the news anywhere. There was a complete blackout in the news, but the IFC NewsList Press Release got into the hands of two U.S. Senators because a single person, a 23 year old legal assistant, a member of the IFC, sent it to them.

Christmas is coming. Buy two bulk boxes of cards and send them to the men behind the wire. It does make a difference. There are two POW Birthdays this month, December. Send them a card. Let them know there are concerned people all over the world who care about them.
