We have been informed by the Oct. 5th Vets Assoc that a "human Rights document", drafted by some Maghaberry prisoners, will be prepared as a "comm" and smuggled out of the jail in the near future. This will take the form of
very small worded sentences, folded to the size of a
finger nail & finally cellophane-wrapped. We've been told, " The methods of postage to the outside are varied - we'll say no more on that" (sic).

The CR Vets believe this will be somewhat
controversial as it is expected to argue for the
rights of ALL prisoners, rather than concentrate on
the demands of political prisoners, some of whom apparently
support its contents. A leading CR Vet, speaking
personally by phone to one leading republican prisoner
said he personally was highly reluctant to support any
moves that would in effect claim that all prisoners
are the same. He argues that this in effect would
criminalize ALL PoWs. He urged that more details should be sought as to who the drafters of the "comm" are. It is understood that PSF gives its backing to such a strategy, which again, is certain not to go down too well within Anti-Stormont circles. That fact alone has lead to a hostile reaction, thus heralding total rejection?
"Stormont-Watch" reports, "The recently formed FULL STATUS NOW CAMPAIGN (FSNC) is unlikely to be very excited about this "comm" as it would, some argue dilute their aims, by saying that ODCs are the same as political prisoners, and that all inside are just criminals - ie. "There are NO
political prisoners in British jails"- to quote M.
Thatcher at the height of the '81 hunger-strikes! Surely, FSNC's view will be that this strategy would suit Dublin,
London, and the Storm Troopers, just dandy?
A co-founder of the Irish Anti-Partition League has contacted the FSNCampaign to say, "The Stormont Brigade will say this comes under the GFA's promised "Parity of Esteem". They can stick that one, you know where? There's no way we're going to have anything to do with this crap being served on a silver platter to them, especially since so many have been tortured and/or died, outside and inside, during the long and bitter struggles for political status". He felt confident that the entire IA-PL global network would fully support his stance. One must wait and see!
>
"Stormont-Watch" (www.voy.com/70381/)will not automatically post this "comm", nor even the IA-PL if it comes into their central newsroom, regardless of who backs it, inside or out! All this reveals an hostility even before the "comm" has arrived.

HOWEVER, the FSNC will take this "comm" on broad. We herein state that all those who have, or will register support for the campaign via
fsncampaign@hotmail.com
are entitled to receive a copy so that their views are circulated on this, or any other document that relates to the political prisoners, directly or indirectly. The FSNC
mailing list is growing slowly, but it has only
recently been created. A new forum has been created. A campaign badge/button is in the pipeline, and a letter is being drafted to send to all republican prisoners. We cordially invite viewers of this FSNC forum to ask their friends, particularly the relatives of PoWs to register
A-S-A-P via
fsncampaign@hotmail
We thank you all for your personal endorsement of the FSNC.
