Hey,
You are a LEGEND Steve! This is a great idea! Also thought that you were fantastic today, felt that things were productive and flowed well.
I really think you ahould be out there all the time.. I'll start a campaign....
Anyway, to anyone interested, here are some theories (all from Tyson) on desicion making and managing conflict that I found interesting...
-Aim for cohesion and consensus through; inclusion, acceptance, affection/trust/support, respect for dissenting voices.
-Problem solving desicion making through; open communication, creativity, dont illiminate/deny or avoid conflict... see as positive for growth / new insights & better dicision making.
-Self & group evaluation of processes and actions (which seems to be the important thing in the instance of our organisation).
All sounds very idealistic, I know, but maybe looking at this theory and then anylising why it wouldnt work (or would for us optimists) or is unrealistic for our group would be a good way of looking at the strategy, structure and culture we DO seem to have (instead of concentrating on what we don't/could/should have) and then building from there on what we would have to do to become an orginisation capable of successful problem solving and desicion making (where we seem to get stuck at the moment).
Isnt it scary that I now have another forum in which I can babble!!!
Hey, hasnt Steve 'created a space in which....'(refer primary task)!!!! Will be interesting to see the response this gets, and by whom... will it be a micro version of the DM or create a comfortable place for new voices...?
