Subject: survey questions

Think that that would be a great idea, was thinking that one way around the 'silent minority' could be to go around the room and get people one at a time to respond to set questions... dont know which would work best..
Questions I was thinking were along the lines of:
How would you describe the culture at the moment?
What sort of culture would you 'like' it to be?
which of the role/s definitions in the book apply to you?
How and Why?
Is there a role/s that you would rather be?
Do you have expectations of what you want from the meeting before it starts? Are these fulfilled? If they are not do you actively do anything to change this? If you dont why not?

God, the list could go on forever. Personally I would like to be applying (therefor anylising and interpreting) the theory to what is actually happening in the meetings.. Who are performing in what roles, what sort of culture do we want to establish as a way to influence the norms of behaviour that would work best in such a diverse aggregate that has been forced to become a group and wanting to become a successful team (along the lines of the language and tone in which you say something discussion), how does this differ from the culture we have (which is evolving almost minute to minute at the moment). What strategies and structure do we need to create to achieve this ideal culture.
I also think that we are not spending enough time getting to know all of the members of the group. We only find out the names of those who speak, or are in our workgroups, maybe we need to also go around the room to find out a little about eachother. We cant build a trusting, open relationship with people whose names we dont even know.
We have 10 weeks left, I think we should stop trying to find an immediate 'quick fix' solution and concentrate on building a knowledge of WHO is in the group, it wouldnt be a waste of time as all of us are bringing external influences into the group.

Think that it could def be what the group needs to get out of this bloody storming stage!

you the man
