Even hypo-allergenic products will cause reactions in some. But they do test to see if it causes wide spread irritations. If say 20% of the testers have a bad reaction it's reformulated till they get a lower rate of reaction. Of ten times when something is reformulated to get fewer reactions the cream becomes less and less effective. I belive the researcer put kinetin serum on the flies bodies to see if it is aborbed into their cells. A standard step when testing to start with flies and then move on to mice. With the creams on the market the flies were fine, when she increased the % of kinetin serum they started to die. Paula Begoun also had something about this in one of her newsletters. If the stuff form TBS is working then go ahead and keep using it. But everytime I aks the doctor about all the creams and serums that are said to help in anti-aging I get the same reponse. Creams and serums will not reverse aging only a good sunblock and staying ou of the sun used everyday will do any good. You can exfolitate with retinol and AHA and those will make a difference. He still thinks that Renova is the best cream out there for anti-aging, it's the one thats been studied the most. It's belived the skin will repair itself without the help of cosmetics if a person stays out of the sun. I know plenty of people who don't use anything at all on their faces (including sunblock) and are outside all the time that look great- alomst no lines and no brown spots.

I've seen flies play in a dish of olive oil and live to tell about it!
