Dear Karen,
YES, Absolutely. People of other nationalities can be prone to this disease.

Whenever we define a disease entity that seems to be genetic, the majority of the patients are usually from a minority group in the world. However, since we all from the same species (human!), whenever a single one of our genes become damaged, the disease entity we experience as a result, is usually the same or very similar. The origin of the genetic "damage" may be different, nevertheless, the disease is the same! I hope that answered your question.

Also, it would be very interesting to know what is your genetic origin? what do you look like? what color is your hair, eyes, skin? maybe you can send me a picture of yourself? you can contact me at mydoctor@mail.com if you would our correspondence to be confidential.

Yours Sincerely,
