after nearly twenty minutes of such, she slows the mare, letting the lead fall slack
she walked over to the mare, unclipping the long lead and adorning her with the same, but shorter
she leads her just outside thae takc room, slipping a light-weight english saddle onto her back, along with an old brilde of her father's
'good girl, Laney, ready to go?' the mare moves slightly forward as she mounts, trotting out of the stables then into the sunshine, the turf lying easily b'neath the mare's unshod hooves
she looks around boldy, then spots a hedge and sighs hopefully, torroing the mare toward it, leaning forwad into her stirups...they needed the practice
within half a foot of the hedge, the large thoroughbred swerves, eyes stubbornly wild
'Laney' she gives her a slightly-harsh touch with her hand 'What'd I do wrong this time?'
she scowls, then sighs, determined not to let her temper overwhelm
'oh, well, you've never really done it well before.' she rolls her eyes 'we'll get it net time, wont we??' the mare seems to smile
