"Jasmine!" Dana called."Come here, I have to ask you something." Jasmine ran up to her mom & stopped."What is it?" She asked."Well," said Dana, "I was wondering if you would like to jump Calypso for me over a 5'-6" course? I think your a good enough rider to do that size of course, so will you ride him?" Jasmine nodded energetically.A chance to ride on her moms Olympic winning stallion, she was tottaly going to ride him!Dana told Jasmine "Good.He's in his stall right now.You know where his tack is, right?" Jasmine nodded."Well get going, I've gotta go get Calypso's Song ready for my training session with her.She is really coming along.I think that she is definitly going to be able to jump 5 feet.But Corrado, that horse is a definite olympic prospect.You never know, Song might be a olympic prospect also.Well anyways, I've got to go." Dana said.Jasmine jogged to Calypso's stall & patted the big black stallion on the nose.Then she ran to the tack room & got out Calypso's tack.She quickly tacked up the 17 hand Holsteiner & led him out to the arena.Calypso stood still as Jasmine mounted him.She squeezed him into a walk, & 15 mins later, she had warmed up Calypso @ a walk, trot & canter.Jasmine popped Calypso over a 4 foot oxer & a 4'-3" vertical for a warm-up.Then she got Calypso cantering & got ready to jump him over a 5'-6" fence.When Jasmine finished the course, if possible, she was even more amazed of the already amazing Calypso.He was the perfect jumper & had gotten no faults along with a great time.She cantered Calypso over 2 more courses, then called it quits & walked him out.She got off Calypso & led the stallion back to his stall.It was to cold out to hose off Calypso, so Jasmine untacked him & put a cooled over him after tying him up in his stall.After 15 mins, Jasmine took off Calypso's cooler & quickly brushed the sweat marks off of him.Once his coat looked perfect, she brushed his mane & then combed his tail carefully, so she would not pull out any tail hairs.Finally, Jasmine took off Calypso's halter & put on his navy blue & burgandy stable sheet, embroidered with her moms initals.Then Jasmine put a flake of hay in his stall & gave him a carrot after topping off his water bucket.Now that Calypso was all taken care of, Jasmine walked into the barn office to curl up on the couch with the barn cats & read a book on vet medicine, since she planned on being a vet once she graduated from colledge...
