I grabbed my new western saddle & Maggie's bridle.Then I set them down next to Maggie's stall.The black-bay mare was in her stall, waiting patiently for me to tack her up.I did that & led the QH mare to the indoor arena because it was raining very hard outside.Maggie spooked when it thundered outside.But she calmed down & got used to the thunder.I quickly lunged her & then got on her.My riding position was looking good.I squeezed Maggie into a walk.After warming her up @ a walk, I got her to dog-trot.Maggie was keeping her neck down & straight, & was rounded & on the bit.After a little bit of that, I squeezed Maggie into a jog.Just then, Joey came into the arena with Boomerang."oh, hey Jewel," Joey called.Jewel waved back.Joey mounted Boomerang & Jewel's attention was jerked back to Maggie when she suddenly bucked.Jewel sat through the buck & sighed, Green horses! Jewel put Maggie through the rest of her paces at a trot, lope & canter.Then Jewel did some sliding stops & rollbacks with Maggie before walking out the QH mare & leading her back to her stall.Jewel untacked Maggiw & put away her tack.Then Jewel groomed Maggie, gave her a flake off hay, topped off her water bucket & pciked her stall.Maggie was fine about a pitchfork being in her stall & didn't spook.Jewel wanted to make sure that she cared as well as possible for her horse.Then Jewel cleaned her tack & western riding chaps.She polished her spurs & swept the aisle that Maggie was in inside the barn & then went over to the feed room to start feeding...
