Holly and I walked down to the barn. We we greeted by whinnies. "Good morning everyone!" I said. Holly went into the tackroom and got her stuff out. She put it next to mini's stall. She went into the stall and got the little pony out. she put her in the cross ties and groomed her.
mini stood there nicely. Holly then finished tacking her up and we headed for the ring. i helped holly mount. she walked Mini over to the rail. They walked for a couple of mins. "Ok, trot." I said. holly began trotting. She was learning to feel her diagonal. "Do lots of circles Holly. Remeber, keep your leg behind the girth, weight in your heels, hands and eyes up." I said. Holly did her best to fix
what was wrong. She did lots of circles. "Try a sitting trot." I said. Holly bounced around but didn't do to bad off a job. "Posting again." I said. "Holly, come over here."
I said. Holly rode Mini over to me. "Today, at your canter w're going to learn about leads. Leads are kindof like diagonals. The lead is right when this leg or the inside leg
is leading or reaching ahead of the other leg. To get the right lead you must bend mini's head toward the rail and nudge her with your inside or this leg. Do you understand?' I said. She nodded yes. "Ok, go canter." I said. holly steared Mini to the rail and bent her head toward the rail.
She kicked with her imnside leg and away they went. "Right or wrong?" I called out. "Right!" Holly called back. she cantered around for a bit. "Walk for a min." I said. holly walked Mini abit and then reversed and cantered the other way. She picked up the correct lead again. After that Holly cooled Mini out and then Dismounted. She led her into the barn and untacked her. Mini wasn't too sweaty so holly just brushed her off. She then put her in her stall with a treat.
She then,under my watchful eye, groomed Magic and led him around some. He was really good. She then helped me fed, clean stalls,water and sweap the alise. We then polished up the brass stale plates and brushed away the cobwebs. We then put her tack away and went up to the house. I would come down later to ride.
