Date Posted: 04:29:25 09/07/02 Sat In reply to: Dana 's message, "meeting CP at Oak Ridge Farm...inside CP,Cat & Meghan>>>..." on 18:25:24 09/06/02 Fri *CP, my kids will exercise ride as well* Alli grinned and tucked a final strand of mahogany hair in her ponytail. It bobbed perkily as she ran downstairs. Her tan jodphers were clean and her sky blue T-shirt was neat and tidy. She pulled on her tall boots and ran out to her sister’s car. Laura was leaning against the door, glancing at the clock. Her long mahogany hair was braided and flowed down her back. She had on fawn colored breeches and tall boots. Her purple tank top was slightly mussed. Jon dashed out of the house, pulling on his shirt. “I’m here!” he called, jumping into the car. He was wearing Wrangler jeans, clean boots, and a ‘Cowboy’ T-shirt. Once they were all on the road, Laura hummed along to Avril Lavigne’s song ‘Complicated’ as it came on the radio. 10 minutes later… They pulled in at Oak Ridge Farm. Laura parked the car and they walked into the barn. CP was listening to Joey talk about his riding experience. She looked over at them as she finished. “Would you please tell me about your experience with horses?” she asked politely. Laura smiled and began, “Well, I did my first leadline classes when I was two. Then, I started riding on my own when I was about three. I learned to do dressage at four and at five, I was learning eagerly to jump. I kept improving and when I was 12, I started exercising racehorses. I really liked it and worked for a trainer in England for 4 years, exercising his racers. Right now, I am really back into 3 day eventing, hunter, and jumper, but I can exercise ride racers. I do up to 4th level dressage and can jump 5’. I own a 7 y/o Welsh/TB gelding named JJ, who does 3rd level dressage and 4’ jumping. I ride lots of green horses for Mom.” She smiled with pleasure and looked over at Alli. “I started out just like Laura at the age of two and so on. When I was 11, I started learning hunter and began to 3 day event. I jump 4’, although I’ve done higher, and do 3rd level dressage. I own an Arabian mare named Feather. I’ve been training her since she was 3, now she is five. She does first level dressage and 2’6” jumping. I also own a Welsh pony mare named Full of Spunk. She does first level dressage and 2’6” jumping as well.” Alli said, taking a deep breath. Jon looked at CP and smiled. “I can do english but I mostly do western. I do all western events and can easily handle green horses. I own a 4 y/o QH gelding named Montana Cowboy and a 2 y/o QH filly named Arizona Cowgirl, nicknamed Montana and Zoe. Montana competes in barrel racing, trail, and is learning reining. Zoe will be broken to rider soon with potential in all western events. I also ride my mom’s QH mare, Beauty, a lot.” He said. The three teens stood calmly awaiting someone else to go ahead and give their experience. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
