Are you talking to yourself.” Jacob laughed. They headed down the trail towards the waterfall, the sun streaming through the canopy of trees. As they passed the XC course, Laura grinned and urged Bet into a swift canter. He bounded energetically to the first jump and sprang over it. After he and Laura had finished the 4’9” course, she pulled him up beside Jacob and Midnight. “Show off! Just because your MOM’s horse can jump 4’9”!” he joked. “My horse jumps 4’.” She protested in mock hurt. Jacob laughed and they continued down the trail, popping over logs. Then they came to the waterfall. It rippled over the rocks in a soft cascade. “I have always loved it here.” Laura sighed. Midnight snorted eagerly as if to say ‘we didn’t come here just to look at it’ and plunged in. Jacob laughed and let her splash around playfully. Bet tossed his head and eyed the water. “You big baby, c’mon.” Laura said, urging him in. He trotted in nervously and stood still, before taking a long gulp of the cool water. Laura smiled as he relaxed and started to splash around. After 15 minutes, Laura and Jacob dismounted and tied their horses to trees. Bet stood grazing calmly. Laura climbed up on a rock ledge, jutting out from the side of the waterfall. She pulled herself onto it and slipped off her top, revealing her turquoise bikini. She pulled off her breeches and boots and dove into the deep part of the water. Jacob was sitting calmly by the side, having pulled off his breeches and shirt. He suddenly stood up and looked serenely over the water. There was no sound except for the waterfall and then. “Aaaaaaaaayahhh!” he screamed as he flipped into the water. Laura laughed and said, “You were scaring me. Being quiet, I mean.” He grinned and pushed her under. They began to splash each other and play around like they were little again! HELEN CONTINUE!
