Date Posted: 14:39:36 11/15/02 Fri I walked to my new project horse's stall and stood at the door, waiting for the sorrel paint mustang mare to pop her head over the door. Finally, she became interested in the apple i had in my hand and reached her head over the door to snatch it. as she grabbed the apple, i grabbed her halter. She snorted as i clipped the lead to her halter and led her out the door. I clipped her in crossties and held the lead in my hand, grooming her. every time she went to move i gave the lead a gentle tug and told her to stand firmly. Finally, i finished grooming her and i slipped the lounging cavasson over her head slowly. she tried to pull away but i had the halter around her neck and she couldnt go anywhere. next, i clipped a lounge line to the cavasson and led her to the lounging ring. Mom (Saddle) met me there and she watched me lounge Misty. I started out by leading her on the circle, then i finally stood in the center of the ring while she walked around me. soon a flickd the whip and told her to trot firmly. she sprang into a flashy trot, then i made her trot several laps before asking her to canter. she cantered delicately around the ring. after a few laps, i slowed her to a trot, then a walk, then reversed her and repeated the work.
