Date Posted: 15:23:53 11/15/02 Fri I walked around the barn, waiting for Arianna and Jennie to show up for their lesson. I was stroking Honor's mane, when I heard a truck pull into the driveway. I knew immediatly, that it was Ari and Jennie. They walked into the barn, with Rosie waling behind them. "Hi guys!" I said. They greetied me beck, and brought them to the grooming stalls. I showed Jennie where Honor was, and watched the two girls as they brushed and carefully tacked up the horses. When they were done I led them into the arena, and sat in my favorite chair by the side, and played with Fluffy while I waited for them to tighten their girths and measure their stirrups. 5 minutes later, they were on their horses, (and pony) and were walking around the arena. After they had been around a few time, I said "Go ahead into your posting trot." The girls clicked to their horses and they soon began trotting. They did pretty well, exept for the fact that Ari had her heel up for awhile, and Jennie was on the wrong diagnol. (I'm sorry but they have to have at least SOME mistakes) "Let them rest and walk a little." I said a little later. Arianna tugged back, and Rosie stopped, with Honor mimicking her. lol. The girls went back into a posting trot later, and did better. Then we practiced a 2-point position. They did well on that too. I let the, do a sitting trot, and both of them posted just a little. Then they let the horses walk a little more. A few minutes later the girls were cantering around the arena with ease. THe horses obeyed, and the girls sat deep into the saddle. We did it the other way too, and the same effect happened. It was nearing the end of the lesson. THe girls walked around the arena a little, and then went over some trotting poles, and caveletis. I had them go over some Xs and double oxers too. Then, they dismounted the horse and pony, and went back into the grooming stall. THey carefully groomed and untacked the equines, and Ari held Rosie. "Good job girls!" I said. "Try to keep it up!" *wink* Arianna and Jennie left the stables, with Rosie walkin behind them. Great Lesson!
