Ashley asked me "whats so special about it?" as she led Black Eagle behind me & Miss Demeanor.I told her "Well, this is the arena we keep all of the really big, super well decorated jumps.The cool part is that this is the arena we hold our grand prix jumping shows in, when we want a show in the indoor.Anyways, the place holds 3,000 people!!! Cool, huh?" "Awesome!!!" said Ashley.We led the horses inside.The arena was giant! Ashley & I mounted our rides.Miss Demeanor was especially spirited as I warmed her up, because she knew she was in the big show arena.Of course, Black Eagle was no exception either.After we had warmed up the Miss D. & Eagle, I said to Ashley "Most of the jumps are set at from around 3'-9" to 4'-3" feet, but you see those 3 jumps over there, there only at 3 feet, so we can warm-up over those.You want to go first?" Ashley nodded & squeezed Eagle into a canter.Eagle was practically galloping towards the 3 foot oxer, he was so excited.I watched as Eagle collected himself for the jump, & soared over the electric blue, lime green & bright yellow painted jump.Ashley went into a perfect looking 2-point as Eagle jumped the 3 foot fence.Eagle landed, & kept on cantering until Ashley brought him to a halt.Then it was my turn.I got Miss Demeanor to canter.The spirited mare competed in grand prix shows, & was no easy ride, but she soared over jumps like she had wings.I kept the big, bay mare collected as she cantered toward the jump.You had to try to keep Miss D. somewhat collected through a course, or she would take the whole course at a full out gallop.Miss D. sprang over the jump, clearing it with a foot to spare.The Dutch Warmblood mare always jumped big over smaller fences, so jumping a foot above a 3 foot fence was usual for her.She cleated the jump & kept on cantering until I slowed her down.Ashley & I warmed up the horses over a few more smaller jumps before I said to Ashley "Do you want to jump the course first? Just look for the numbers next to the jumps, then the course is simple.You start on that 4 foot, brush box oxer." Ashley said "Ok, I'll do the course first.But I've got to tell you, these jumps are quite impressive, I mean there so well decorated!" I smiled & said "I always like jumping in here, because the jumps are always so cool.Mom has a professional course designer design the courses for the grand prxi jumping shows, so the jumps look especially cool when theres a show going on.But what you should really see is some of the jumps from the grand prix's mom, Jasmine & I do, there awesome looking!" "Sounds cool," said Ashley, "I guess I'll start the course now." With that said, Ashley squeezed the Black Eagle into a canter, & turned him towards the first jump of the course...
