Date Posted: 15:22:03 11/28/02 Thu My mom was instructing me on how to get Bold Eagle over some smaller jumps, but I was thinking maybe going to his real height, slowly, of course. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later in the day, when mom went to ride Free and Spring, and train some of the younger horses, I went to untack Eagle. "Eagle, enjoy the rest of you breakfast, I'll be back later, then we'll go over some jumps." Eagle seemed to like the idea, and munched on his hay net while I saddled up Ele. "Ele, I love you SO much. But I'm getting a little large for you, and now Eagle is ready for me to ride." Ele sighed as I worked on her hooves "I know, I'll ask Momma to adopt another girl!" I giggled and Ele nodded her head as to say "That sounds good!" I finished with her grooming and stepped back to look at the work. It looked really good. I mosied to the tack room and got Ele's tack. !@@###$$$$%%%%%^^^^^^&&&&&&&********((((((((())))))))))__+++ (Nothing bad was^said, I was a messin' around with the numbers on the keyboard) I kept Ele at a lazy walk through the woods to the cross country course. Making sure she wouldn't spook, I loosened my posture to western style and thought a while. When I had been taking Ele out, I saw Momma clearing some really tall jumps on Free. She looked as happy as a fish that had just eaten some shrimp. I hoped some day I would be able to jump that well. Ele suddenly decided to trot, so I adjusted posture and pulled her to a walk. We were there, so I did some trotting serpentines, a few figure eights, and cantered her some. I turned her to the pony jumps and gave her the signal, she just reared for some reason. I pulled her down and got off. I opened her mouth, and saw that her bit was were it should've been, and then I checked her saddle. I saw nothing. I must of been doing something wrong, so I tried again. This time she went through the jumps, though it seemed she was in pain, and when I tried to trot her back, she reared again. I decided to check her feet. There was a rock in her hoof, and I felt it swelling already! I felt so bad. I took out my pick, because my mom had told me to always have one, I got the rock out and led her around. She was limping, but trying not to show it, so I led her to the barn and but some ice on the swollen leg. "Sorry, Ele." I patted her, cleaned her water bucket out and gave her more water. I turned to Eagle he was like "You can ride me! I want to be ridden!" I laughed and tacked him up. !~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~ Will finish later.
