Date Posted: 18:25:01 12/16/02 Mon *Vanessa crouched down on the floor looking for Marvel's halter. The tackroom was a mess! She finally found the blue halter and leadrope. She brought it back to Marvel's stall and hurried to tack up before her lesson. "Nessa, come on, Vicky is out of the ring! Our turn." mom called. Vicky was taking Faith on a trail ride with Dad and Camryn. Vanessa finished putting on Marvel's bridle and she led her out to the arena. She swung onto the tall geldings back and waited for her mom to tell her what to do. "Ok, Nessa, warm her up and then trot her over the little cavaletti." she pointed to the 2' cavaletti on the other side of the big arena. Vanessa squeezed lightly with her legs and urged the gelding into a walk. She warmed him up at a walk, doing all her stretches and then asked him to trot. The gelding moved into a nice, springy trot around the arena. She trotted her over the cavalletti and took him over it a couple of times. He picked up his knees nicely and shot over them. " Ok, why don't you take that line over their," Lana pointed to a 6 jump line. Nessa nodded and urged Marvel into a canter. She cantered up to the first jump and just 2 strides away she got into 2-point. Vanessa let some of the rein out and Marvel soared over. "Good!" her mom called brightly. Marvel soared over the rest of the line and then trotted over ot her mom. "Not bad," Lana said as she patted the bay neck. "Ok, take that line one more time," Lana said.
