Subject: WTF???

I understood the ending and had no problem with it. I liked the movie but it missed a simple point! In the first Matrix movie Morpheus "unplugs" Neo and explains how the machines have enslaved humans. I was under the understanding that the machines would be destroyed and people would be freed. As it stands now, there is no war but the machines STILL have humans plugged in and being used as batteries! Neo was supposed to be somekind of savior for the people trapped in the matrix, so what the hell happened to that?
