Subject: Why does Neo need to fly?

I don't understand. Basiclly, what Neo does is manipulating the matix equations (or at list see through them). If this is the case, why does he need to fly? why can't he simply make himself available in the place he needs/want to be? Dissapear from the source, and appear in the destination?
