First off, if a program is deleted (like the werewolves and merovingian) in any of the matrixes then it would be able to transfer itself to an upgraded version (sort of like a virus hopping from one peice of software to another).

Second, the people in the pods would be there to continue the illusion that they are in the 'real world'.

I can't think of a decent answer for the next question, except that in this particular group of matrixes there are only 6. There may be more groups.

Fourthly, i don't agree that it would be easier to overwrite the matrix because if you did you would have to decode it first (Sypher: 'theres way too much information to decode the matrix'). It would just be easier to write a new one. it is after all easier to start a chain of events than it is to change it.

Thats my arguement at the moment but im sure youll just tear that one down in my face too. Oh well i can always re-think.
