Yes, i find it hard to believe that Persephone is the mother of the matrix. Most people think that she is for one reason, which is the fact that she wanted Neo to kiss her so that she could be reminded of what true love felt like. Those who believe that Persephone is the mother base on that damned kissing scene need to consider two things. First, the name Seraph (Oracle's guardian)refers to top-ranked angels who were said to be on fire for their love for God. Why would the W. Bros deliberately choose the name Seraph as the guardian who protects the Oracle? Duh, the Oracle is a good program (helps Neo, Morpheus, etc.) and obviously a very important character in the movie. Second, remember that 'love transcends all.' The Oracle is the one who set up true love between Trinity and Neo! That's a bigger accomplishment and is more significant than the Neo/Persephone kiss in the bathroom. Come On! The Oracle obviously knows more about human emotion and psyche at this point in the trilogy. Would a program that is so understanding of human emotion and psyche need to be REMINDED of what love feels like (which is why Persephone wanted the kiss)???
At this point in the trilogy, we can conclude that between the Oracle and Persephone, the ORACLE IS THE MOTHER!

p.s. The Architect's reply 'Please' is ambiguous. It could mean 'please' as in 'ummm duh!...of course it's the Oracle. I'm the smartest SOB in the Matrix and you (Neo) want to interrupt me so that you can state the obvious? Dumbass!' The Architect's reply could also mean ...read the other posts
