I've 2 ideas about the real identity of this white man, just personal supposition. I'll be glad to read you critics or ideas.
-the architect is just another machine program, made to take the final control over humans (remember the Oracle is nothing but a program, which we are supposed to think a rebel one.)
-the architect is just a man, who has been able to dominate everything alse on the planet, but not able to defeat Zion without machines, or just about destroing it.
