Brent,

I am not sure of the requirements of your English paper, I think it would be easier for you to write 2 seperate papers on Beowulf, one that meets the requirements of your English class and one that meets the requirements for this class.

You could stil focus on Beowulf but focus on its historical setting and/or practices, for example the burial practices described could be examined and related to the burial practices of other germanic peoples of the time, looking for parallels.

You must make this a historical paper if you want to get credit for it in this class.

So I think you should write 2 seperate papers rather than trying to fit the requirements of 2 papers into one.
Email me if you have questions or comments.

Here is a good bibliography of Beowulf

PSS You might have a better time of it writing about the history of the Danes and looking for connections to Beowulf
