Although Paul Simon's influence of exposing the african band to american culture may have made them more financially stable, it also contributes to the evolution and mixing of world cultures. As important as it is to expose one's self to all cultures, preservation is also an important factor. I think Paul Simon's merge with the african band was a clear example of how America's greed for new entertainment can easily destroy a country's cultural style of music.
