I agree. These two young performers were impressive. One of the things that impressed me the most about them was the fact that not only were they good musicians, but they understood the history and background behind the genre (blue grass) of music in which they performed. It was interesting to see how they were able to point out when they weren't quite playing a particular song the way it was originally played. That is they were not playing the song the way Bill Monroe would have played it. Immediately after they finish the song they said that Bill Monroe would have given them a hard time for not playing it to his standards. I began to wonder if that affected the authenticity of the song. That is what Bill Monroe would probably be upset about, he would probably argue that changing the song would affect the authenticity of the song. But, although I never heard that particular song performed in any other way as that was the first time I heard it I couldn't imagine it sounding any better. These two performers were excellent musicians.
