I enojyed the presentation and felt that of all the guests that this class has had, they were the most open and straight forward. They talked about the influence of politics on their music and their views as libral people. They said that the majority of people in Blue Grass or Country music tend to be more conservative and it is obvious in their musical messages. Its also interesting that they said that the more you go out west the more libral views there is in the music. Vince also brought up the idea that there is a poverty of imagination. I think this has to do with rapid growth of technology and how the American culture is less interactive than before. That I why I think I like Blue Grass music. The musicians use the same old and sometimes out dated instruments that people who were apart of the music scene 100 years ago used. Its very rich in history, which is very appealing.
