It is unfortunate that we live in a society where everything is commerialized, even life. The songs and artists that are played on the the radio are the songs that are most heard and the more popular. It is neat to hear the performers in class talk about their life in the music industry and describe the fun festivals, road trips, shows, jams and living in a partying atmosphere where everyone loves what you love. It has not been touched on too much about the stuggles of becoming known and making a living of playing music. Pete is able to stay afloat, but he said that some months he is worried and that he has been in dept for some time. He also made the point that is not for the money or esle he would be in another work force. When they all talk about the crazy times and rememberable moments, it makes it all seem worth it. It even sounds addicting and something that one can get wrapped up in and forget about all the other problems and worries of life. Most of what we have been presented in class with the performers does not seem commercialized because they are not yet commercialized. This portrays a more pure musician that has not been spoiled like big time bands and pop stars. The image is more authentic.
