Off to one of their best starts in franchise history you would think that GM Dean Belanger would be happy with his team. On a night when Quebec beat the Halifax Harpoons in front of a sold out crowd to take the first place lead in the East, you would think he would be all smiles...but he's not.

"Yes things are good so far, but I'm not ready to sit back and take any credit as of yet" spouted off Belanger. "I'm very disappointed so far with a couple of my players and I need to add a couple of role players as well."

While he wouldn't name anyone, it is largely believed that his bullseye is directly on Martin Straka. Off to a very poor start despite playing on a line with Mario Lemieux, Straka only has one point playing on one of the top offensive teams in the league. In his defense, coach Burns has been playing him 10 minutes a game on the third line, so it's been hard for him to find his offensive touch.

As far as the off season additions, it's so far so good. Coach Burns has been easing Lemieux into the lineup and both Blake and Zubov have been rock solid. No one player has taken contol of the scoring for Quebec, instead it's been 5 or 6 different guys distributing the offense.

It is very easy to see who the MVP is so far early in the season is though. Patrick Lalime has been outstanding posting a 2.33 GAA and has 4 wins to his credit. If he keeps that up and get some solid relief from Cloutier, it should be a fun season in Quebec!
