Victoria made a deal with their counterparts on the other side of the continent last night, sending veterans Trevor Linden and Bill Houlder to the east coast. Coming west is another veteran, defenceman Bob Boughner.

"This trade was prompted by the outstanding play of David legwand on the farm", said Totems GM Shawn Macdonald. "David was excellent with us in his call up last seasons and has looked really good so far this year on the farm as well. We felt we owed it to him to let him play with the big club."
