Alright, maybe Boughner isn't so young, but he is heading west, all the way to Victoria. The Isles veteran defenseman, who was widely shopped during the preaseason, has been dealt to the Totems. In return, the Isles pick up some much needed defensive and veteran leadership up front with Trevor Linden and a replacement for Boughner in Bill Houlder.

In Trevor Linden, the Isles pick up a battle weary center who can add a real defensive presence to the team that was sorely lacking. Linden can also score goals and after this season he is expected to kick it up a notch even more.

In a first time interview, I, Mr. Potato Head, got to ask Trevor Linden his thoughts on the deal.

"Well.. I do like potatoes", explained Linden. Thats when he started to eye me up so I cut the interview short and headed for the mounds.

Houlder is basically the same as Boughner just a step below in defensive ability. However, after this season, Houlder and Boughner will basically be clones.

This deal is another step towards the franchise building towards next season as both players will significantly improve along with the rest of the team heading into next year.
