(CHARLOTTETOWN)-There are those who thought that Milan Hejduk's grip on the Halifax team scoring lead was just temporary until one of Marian Hossa or Zigmund Palffy overtook him once more. Fortunately for the club, Hejduk didn't subscribe to that theory. With three goals and a pair of helpers in tonights game against the Charlottetown Islanders, the right winger maintained his 1 point lead in the team scoring race and lead the Harpoons to victory. Eric Lindros, Hossa and rookie Brent Sopel also counted for the visitors while Jochen Hecht got things started for the homeside at 5:56 of the first period.

Hejduk's hattrick was the third for him this season and puts him alone in second place only one behind Mario Lemieux's four. It also gives him 31 goals for the year, the third Harpoon to reach the 30 goal plateau. Halifax is the only club to have three 30 goal men at this point in the season.

Not to be forgotten is the four point night of Marian Hossa. With a goal and three assists he now has 52 helpers only 3 off of the GWHL lead presently held by Theoron Fleury of the Saskatoon Silos.

CATCH OF THE DAY: The Dartmouth Clippers have been on quite a tear as of late zooming up the standings in the east from last place to within spitting distance of second. This despite the trading away of their leading scorer Patrick Marleau to the Montreal Marauders. With Marleau gone, Sheldon Keefe, Vaclav Prospal, and Radim Vrbata have picked up the slack. Against the Summerside Schooners, Keefe had a hatrick of his own in the 7-0 romp. Prospal and Vrbata also made it onto the scoresheet with an assist apiece.
