With the trade deadline quickly approaching, many fans of the sickly Marauder franchise are hoping for some deals to cheer about. Unfortunately for them, it may not happen.

"I've been looking," said GM Gallagher, "but there isn't much of a market out there right now. We have some players that we're looking to move, but...."

Gallagher's tenure has been one of slow, steady trading since taking over the reigns a few short weeks ago.

"We've managed to build on our youth, bringing in guys like Patrik Stefan, JP Dumont, Steve McCarthy, Manny Fernandez, Patrick Marleau, Tim Connolly and others, so I'm happy about that. There are other deals I'd like to make, but so far, slow and steady has worked the way we'd like. If a good trade isn't out there, we'll just have to adjust our plans. I can only ask that the fans have some patience."

The fans in question have been staying away from home games in droves, as attendance has dropped as swiftly as the Marauders' ranking in the standings.

"We have issues to address," said Gallagher, "we need to evaluate our ticket price and we need, most importantly, to win some games. In an informal study, I have found a direct link between winning games and a higher number of butts in seats. Strange but true."
