The Trojans made two moves involving blueliners. The first move came on deadline day when they shipped Robert Svehla to Calgary for Stephane Robidas and a 3rd round pick in the upcoming draft.

Trojans GM James Weise on the move, "With Robert being a FA this offseason and with us hearing rumors that he's thinking of returning home to play soon we felt it was in our best interests to move in another direction. Plus, we like the youth and upside that Robidas brings to the table and you can never have enough draft picks."

Then the Trojans claimed veteran blueliner Jyrki Lumme off waivers from Quebec. "We felt that Lumme would add some experience that was lost with the Svehla deal," commented Weise. "Plus, we will save a little cash in the deal as well. With Kariya and Jagr on the roster we have to be budget minded with regards to the remainder of the roster."

As for what the offseason will hold for a team coming off such a disappointing season, it's anyone's guess. But with what looks to be the 2nd overall pick in the upcoming draft things should be interesting.
