(HALIFAX)-Ziggy Palffy continued his hot play scoring three goals and assisting on another as the Halifax Harpoons thumped the London Lasers 7-3. It was a game marred by defensive miscues by London's top line as their top trio of were cheld pointless and were a collective -5 on the night. Palffy opened the scoring at 2:24 of the first when Milan Hejduk picked off a pass from Jamie Langenbrunner and flipped it on to Ron Francis who spotted Palffy breaking behind the defense and fed him with a perfect breakaway pass. The winger went in alone on Olaf Kolzig and deked to his forehand before beating him up high.

London fought back though and briefly took the lead after goals by Marcus Nilson and Doug Weight. However a blueline blast from Mattias Ohlund at 16:08 tied the game up heading into the second.

In a period absolutely dominated by Halifax (they outshot London 16 to 4)it was only Kolzig's great goaltending that kept the Lasers in the game. Still Zigmund Palffy tallied two more goals in the second. First he snapped home the rebound of an Eric Lindros rush on the powerplay at 5:06 and then less than a minute later at 5:45 converyed a great pass by the big center into the 4-2 goal. Third period goals by Shawn Bates, Jeff O'Neill, and Ron Francisv followed by a Geoff sanderson unassisted marker at 14:03 provided the final tally, but it was all Palffy all the time.

"I'm just the beneficiary of some great passes and some great play around me," spoke Ziggy after the game. "It just happened to be my turn." Palffy now has 5 goals and 3 assists in the last two games.

"We played like we needed to play against their top line today," commented Coach Andy Murray. "That is a dangerous trio and we need to shut them down if we are going to win this series."
