Montreal, QB - After promising continued offseason activity, Montreal GM Sean Gallagher held true to his word, though in an unexpected manner.

Montreal added Jocelyn Thibeault to the roster last night, sending european import Dick Tarnstrom and a third round pick in this year's draft to Saskatoon for the streaky netminder.

"We weren't looking to add another goalie, but as I've said, I'm always looking to improve the team. T-Bo has never had a really consistent season, but we think he's just coming into his prime years and will be a great asset for the team," said Gallagher.

Montreal didn't want to move the overage draft pick Tarnstrom, especially considering his offensive flair.

"Tarnstrom has impressed us, and I think he's got some good years coming, too. We just felt that T-Bo is a better fit for us."

The addition of another goalie may cause a bit of a logjam at the position, as Montreal also has recently acquired Martin Biron, Manny Fernandez and Johan Hedburg all on the roster.

"Three of those guys are due new contracts this summer, and that may play a role. We'll just have to see what happens. We have the ability to deal one or two, if need be. Plus, we have a few other deals that are in the works. The plan is very fluid at this point."
