(HALIFAX)-With the season a day old, the Halifax Harpoons have pulled off their first deal of the campaign, this one with the Ottawa Oaks. Going to the Oaks is minor league defenseman Francis Boullion and left wing prospect Martin Samuelsson. Coming to Halifax is big center Josef Vasicek.

"We have always had a preference for big centers in Halifax," commented Harpoons GM Stephen J. Holodinsky. "Big Joe, along with Nik Antropov and Kiel McLeod all fit the mold and should hopefully keep us going into the future."

As for Boullion, he is expected to get a chance to play for the Oaks immediately.

"Francis was in a bit of a logjam here," observed the GM. "He's a quality youngster but there were just too many players in front of him on the depth chart. Hopefully, he'll take this chance and run with it."
