The Ottawa Oaks rolled into Halifax today on the back of their 3 game winning streak. "We have had a lot of success on this long road trip this game in Halifax was our 7th game and all but our first game have been on the road." said head coach Paul Maurice. "We have been pleasantly surprised with how well young Dany Heatley has been playing and today he picked up right where he left off getting a goal and an assist."

The first period was a seesaw affair as the Oaks and Haroons swapped goals as Alexander Mogilny opened the scoring at the 38 second mark. The lead held until the 11 minute mark when in 4 minutes there were three goals scored. The first came from Jeff O'Neill equalising the score for the Harpoons. but his goal was followed shortly after by a goal from Cory Stillman to restore the 1 goal lead for the Oaks. The lead lasted for only 2 minutes however before Milan Hejduk restored the deadlock. In the second period the Oaks were again outplayed but managed to sneak in a couple of goals one of the stick of star rookie Dany Heatley and the second came from Chris Drury off a feed from Heatley. Going into the 3rd period the Oaks had been outplayed and were outplayed again in the 3rd with the Harpoons getting one past Theodore early on off the stick of Greg DeVries. The Harpoons ressured the Oaks hard but in fron t of the stellar play of young Jose Theodore the Oaks held on for the 4-3 win and extend their winning streak to 4 games.

"We were outplayed all game tonight and we were fortunate to have Jose Theodore playing so well in goal for us or else the score could have been a lot different." said GM Springgay. "Even though we won the game today we still know the team to beat in the East are the Harpoons." exclaimed team captain Jason Allison
