In a move designed to add another draft pick for this year's GWHL Draft, the Saskatoon Silos traded with Yellowknife to receive Ottawa's 3rd round pick in the 2003 Draft. In return, the Silos sent the Blades undisclosed future considerations.

"We now have at least one pick in each round of this year's draft, so I think this will be a positive step in helping us rebuild the club" said Silos' GM Ken McKenna. "There is good depth in this draft, so we should be able to add some quality young talent to our system."

Are the Silos' done dealing? "Not necessarily, although we may not acquire any more '03 draft picks. We're still looking to add a center to the lineup, as well as upgrade the RW position, so we'll see what transpires."
