Warriors fans celebrate the return of a leader and icon today as Mark Messier was re-acquired and brought back into the Whitehorse fold.

"Mark was a leader and key player for us last year," Steve Gandour, GM of Whitehorse said to me today in a private interview where he dropped the news. "We hated to waive him last year, and were glad to get him back. He will be huge in any push we make this year for the Cup."

Messier came relatively cheaply at the cost of two third round picks, one in 2005, the other in 2006.

With Lemieux gone, Steve also announced today that Chris Pronger is the new Captain of the Warriors.

Keeping you informed with your Warriors,
Sal Trachan
