Hi,
I have a 120amp gas/gasless mig welder which I am trying to use to weld aluminium. I have set it up with Aluminium wire & an Argon gas cyliner. However when I try to weld the alumimium I dont get any weld penetration, just little balls of aluminum with about 50% of them stuck to the surface of the aluminium plate.
I was told 120amps is a little small for welding aluminium & to try pre-heating the pieces. I have tried this & get the same thing.
Any ideas?
Many thanks
Ryan
