I got a new dx 250 I just wired it to my shop about year ago I called miller factory it was remended to wired to a 125 breaker.House wire will not you have to upgrade when you buy the machine it will give you wire ,breaker spec.Longer the drop cord the bigger the wire will be I got 150 ft cord on mine. Figure about 4 to 6 dollars ft for the wire.250 dx can wired for 240,280,577 It will give you the wiring spec in the book that comes with the machine
