 u need to check with a local electrician, local codes and utilities are involve and the safety of u and your house or garage, dont need no fires, u could jury rig to get 240 volt single phase from input to your house but if u cause a fire insurance probably wont cover it, have a licensed insured and bonded company do the work, it may be expensive up front but peace of mind and safety outweigh all the losing possibilities,think about it, good luck
