Hi everyone! I'm in Edinburgh right now (Scotland, for those of you who don't know), home of J.K. Rowling, the Military Tattoo, and, I think, absolutely no pigeons! (I've decided that pigeons scare me more than snakes.) I have a room all to myself in university housing, which is lovely, and I've seen a lot of interesting performances (symphony, ballet, the Tattoo).

I was in Birmingham a week ago for Tolkien 2005, which was AMAZING! There were so many of the top Tolkien scholars from around the world there, as well as Priscilla Tolkien (the daughter of J.R.R.). It was kind of like cramming a semester of school into five days, because there were so many different sessions to go to, but it was so much better than school because there was no homework and it was all about Tolkien!

Sorry I haven't sent any of you postcards yet! I've discovered postage is ridiculously expensive, so you'll only each get one from me. Sorry about that.

I miss all of you! Rachel, I hope you're still enjoying..uh...is it Costa Rica? And Monica, I'm glad you were safe while in Jordan. And Bethany, I hope working at Target is still, um, loads of fun!
