Prior to taking the IQ test, I felt as though these types of test can partially determine a persons intelligence, emotional and cultural status. The reason why is because some people arent good test takers, arent honest with themselves to tell the truth even on test, and work better under pressure when they are being timed.
After taking the test and reading over the statements before the test, Ive come to the conculsion that my feelings prior to taking the test were partially right. In the classical IQ test, there were several factors tested such as math skills, language abilities, and logical thinking. Even though after taking the test it showed that I hate math, I knew that before the test. Although the quote o the side of the classical test stated that " Many highly intelligent people are poor thinkers. Many people of average intelligence are skilled thinkers. The power of a car is seperate from the way it is driven." Edward De Bono. I agree with this statement because the way people take test and the outcome of the scores, dont define who they are and how intelligent they may be.
For the Cultural IQ test, I feel as though the test basically determines how well you pay attention to images. While taking the test, if you paid attention to the inages and what was missing or the next sequence, you bascially did a good job.
For the emotional IQ test, I felt as though this could determine alot about how a person feels or would handle a sitaution and just how they think in life i general, but how many people are honest when taking these test. Most people pick the answer that they think they should pick, not what they really feel or want to say. This test is really based on honestly, something alot of us having issues with when it comes to answering questions about ourselves. A statement made in this test was, " Some of those with fabulous scores, were doing poorly in life. So this lets us know that test scores dont tell or determine alot about a person.
