Hi Everyone!! My name is Jennifer Williams and I am a first year graduate student at the U of M. I am working towards my teaching license as well as my MAT. I plan to gain my endorsement in both ESL and Early Childhood Education. I am originally from Ohio and I did my undergrad at the University of California, Irvine. I earned a BA in Film Studies...shortly before deciding that California and commercial film were not for me. Great timing, I know. Instead of dropping tens of thousands of dollars on yet another degree right away, I decided that gaining practical experience in my new field of interest would be the way to go. My love for children, adventure and travel led me to take a job teaching English as a Second Language in South Korea, and later, Hong Kong. It was the best experience of my life. I made amazing friends, met my husband and found my passion in teaching ESL to young learners. I was fortunate to be able to travel extensively around Asia, Africa and Europe during my stint teaching overseas. After five wonderful years in Asia, my husband and I have returned to the States and moved to his hometown of Memphis. We have two beautiful dogs and a great apartment downtown. I am very excited to be in grad school and can't wait to start the next chapter of my life!
