There are several job openings at my office (West Bethesda, MD - a suburb of Washington DC) for US Citizens with a B.S., M.S., and/or PhD. We are only looking for Electrical/Electronics Engineers and/or Physics Majors. A job description follows:

DUTIES: This position is located in the Theory Modeling & Analysis Branch (Code 751), Underwater Electromagnetic Signatures Division of the Signatures Department at Carderock Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, West Bethesda, MD. The selectee will be assigned as Electromagnetics Analyst responsible for conducting analyses to determine specific technical project objectives, experiments and investigations to develop and further understand unproven concepts and phenomena. S/he will be responsible for, making presentations, preparing technical reports and papers. Other duties will be assigned in support of underwater electromagnetic silencing program objectives and of various submarine and surface ship sponsors.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: No professional experience required.

ASSIGNED PROGRAM/PROJECT AREA:
Writes and presents proposals to investigate and develop an understanding of navy specific electromagnetic field theory, analytical and numerical models/simulations of sources, and their propagation in an ocean environment.
Plans and participates in laboratory and at-sea experiments to develop and prove signature reduction and monitoring concepts and propagation phenomena.
Makes presentations and prepares technical reports and papers.
Provides expertise to sponsors, project office, other scientists, Center management.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Ability to understand the shipboard sources of electromagnetism.
Ability to understand the technologies used in reducing the off-board electromagnetic fields.
Ability to understand and analyze measured electromagnetic signatures of ships and submarines.
Expertise in analytical, numerical, and physical scale magnetic and/or electric modeling techniques.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to obtain and maintain up to a TOP SECRET clearance.
