It’s time for International Executive Board officer elections. The term for the current IEB officers runs out at the 2004 Convention in the summer of 2004. The Elections Committee is officially opening nominations for all of the International Executive Board positions.

The International Executive Board acts as the governing body of the Sorority, guides AOE's members in the attainment of the Ideals and Objectives of Alpha Omega Epsilon, and perputates the Sorority by planning for its future. The five IEB Officer positions are elected for a 2-year term which commences at the close of the 2004 International Convention.

Any alumna member may nominate candidates for an office on the International Executive Board. To be eligible to be a candidate for an IEB position:
1) The nominee must be an Alumna member who has served at least one year on an International Committee, as an International Committee Chairperson or as a Chapter Alumna Advisor, or be in good standing with the sorority and have nomination approval by the IEB. A candidate for IEB President must have served at least one year as an International Executive Board Officer.
2) The nominee must have given written consent to be placed on the ballot.
A written petition for the nominee and the nominee’s consent shall be submitted to the Elections Committee six months prior to convention. A one-paragraph explanation why the nominee is an excellent candidate for the given office should be included with the petition.

The IEB positions and their duties as listed in the International Constitution are below:

President
a. The President must know and uphold the International Constitution.
b. She presides at the Organization conventions and at meetings of the IEB and she must notify the Vice President in advance if she cannot attend.
c. She is the meeting mediator and remains impartial during all meeting discussions.
d. She presides over all International Ceremonies.
e. She is responsible for maintaining all short and long-term goals of the organization.
f. She signs charter and membership certificates.
g. She provides general supervision over the activities of the IEB officers.
h. She cares for matters of discipline and extremes.
i. She votes on all chapter and IEB legislation, but her vote is counted only in the event of a tie.
j. She oversees the Judiciary, Elections, and Publications Committees.
k. She maintains and submits necessary forms to maintain the legal status of the IEB, such as Incorporation and Tax Exemption.

Vice President
a. The Vice President presides over the meetings after being notified by the President that she cannot attend.
b. She is responsible for coordinating and directing the Expansion Committee and other special committees.
c. She assists the President with all ceremonies.
d. She is responsible for the props and equipment for all ceremonies.
e. She votes on all chapter and IEB legislation.
f. She assists the Member Relations Committee in maintaining the membership database.

Secretary
a. The Secretary votes on all chapter and IEB legislation.
b. She signs charter certificates.
c. She acts as the IEB contact and member of the Member Relations, Newsletter, and AOE History Committees.
d. She defines and oversees all administrative procedures.
e. She defines and oversees all Risk Management responsibilities at the International level.

Treasurer
a. The Treasurer votes on all chapter and IEB legislation.
b. She acts as the IEB contact and member of the Financial Activities committee.
c. She performs all financial transactions for the IEB, including receiving all income and payment of all debts.
d. She is responsible for maintaining the International Budget.
e. She is responsible for the approval of any reimbursement for an IEB expense over a predetermined amount set in the International Bylaws.
f. She records and accounts for all income and debt for legal and tax purposes.

Interchapter Relations
a. The Interchapter Relations Officer votes on all chapter and IEB legislation.
b. She assigns alumnae advisors to each chapter. She helps chapters maintain standard procedures.
c. She collects and maintains data on each chapter. She acts as a link between the active chapters and the IEB.
d. She keeps in direct contact with all chapter alumnae advisors.
e. She assists the Member Relations Committee in maintaining the membership database.

Nomination forms are available from the Elections Committee. Included in the nomination forms are:
1) The name, address, phone number, and email address of the nominee;
2) The name, address, phone number, and email address of the nominator;
3) The nominee’s and nominator’s signatures; and
4) A one-paragraph explanation why the nominee is an excellent candidate for the given office.

Nominations are due six months prior to the opening day of convention (generally early February, depending on the date of the 2004 Convention). Nomination forms may be obtained by contacting the Elections Committee at:
