Hey, now, I don't do that because of some kind of other agenda. I do it because DAMN can this fandom get wanky sometimes, myself included- god am I wanky- and my friends over at Fandom_wank will definitely appreciate the amusement. :D That's all.

I agree with a lot of this, really, especially where Subaru's concerned. He's the fandom's baby, after all, and a lot of is, myself included again, get rather protective.

Really, that's all I have to say about it over here, except this: If anyone, ANYONE ever has a problem with my portrayal of an X character, especially in Ananda, as that's my beloved project at the moment, please, please, PLEASE tell me. I want to KNOW what people think of my characterization. ESPECIALLY Subaru, as he's quite important to me, and I want to portray him as such.

This here is what Natalie Baan has to say about character lovin': "She has to love her characters, not in the sappy, hearts-and-sparklies "oooh I wub my Sei-chan sooooooooo much! *hugglz* *spaz*" kind of way or the possessive, claws-out "he's *mine*--Miko says *back off*! (And don't you pair him with that character either--ew!)" kind of way, but in the way of wanting to be with them, wanting the best for them, but letting them be who they are, even when it hurts. The kind of love that looks deep and listens well and stores up all the little details that make people real to each other, or a world real to the person who encounters it. Because to love a character is also to love the world that he or she inhabits--the two are inseparable at the root. Even if you take a character out of his or her normal milieu, the ache for the world that should be is still there, an empty shape that somehow has to be dealt with, even if it's just to evoke the poignancy of that absence, or else the character really isn't the same character."

And you know, I think she's right. ^_^ That's all!
