I'm not sure I know exactly what you're asking, but...

Three people have The Choice (or any choice, for that matter, since fate was foreordained: Kamui, Saaya, and Kotori. Kamui gets to choose what side he's going to take, Saaya got to choose who would bear the shinken, and Kotori gets to choose between who dies: herself or the earth. In her dream, Kotori chose to die instead of seeing the earth destroyed. So, basically, we already know part of how "X" is going to conclude (the earth/humanity won't be destroyed because Kotori died in its place).
