*hides Spikey in the cupboard, where Hinoto is comfortably residing*
Hey, roomie! *to Satsy* We even have a fireplace in this room! Wicked! This is so cool! Let's toast marshmallows! :D
*bounces onto the bed*
Ok, now that I'm all cosy, I recall a conversation about Hinoto on the former MB. Keri-chan, that 'common or garden evil' comment cracked me up! LMAO
However, she is not. First of all, she's still trying to stop her evil self in the latest Asuka. Second of all, it's what Kakyou said in X 14: "everyone has a dark side. 'Kamui' is yours. And someone close to you is suffering because of theirs". i.e. It's obviously Hinoto who's suffering because of her evil self. The problem is that before Saiki's death she thought that being a dreamgazer might help, maybe even be a way to change the future. BUT when she couldn't save Saiki's life, she was like "what's the point of being a dreamgazer if I can't do anything, change anything?" (& yes, I'm paraphrasing to save time). She lost her hope, she lost her belief in Kamui (well almost - Kamui was the last thing Hinoto thought about before giving in to evil).
Incidently, I love all those "going evil" scenes in X 14. Oh, the symbolism of water! :D In X 13 there was her falling into Kakyou's pool of tears - a fairly obvious 'Alice in Wonderland' reference. Then in #14, her dark self comes up THROUGH THE WATER - now, psychologically this would represent the depths of the unconscious mind. Not to mention good Hinoto gets stuck UNDER the water (i.e. underneath the conscious mind, stuck back into the subconscious or dreaming mind where previously she'd been trying to keep her evil self).
My theory is that /Hinoto/ instead of trying to change the future is letting the Dragons go to their own yucky destined fate. Subby killed Sei, Arashi shagged Sora (!!! ^_^), Karen tangled with Nataku & Fuuma - all as it seemed to be pre-ordained. Now, this is only a guess, & I'd be glad for some other opinions/ideas. ;p
